The service record
Each case has one service record: a PDF with every visit, its stamped photo and the declaration of each server who worked the case.
What's in it
- The person to be served, the address, the papers and the case number.
- The count of personal attempts, different days and different times.
- The service log: every visit and mailing, oldest first, with the date, time, method, result and location.
- Each visit with its stamped photo and what happened.
- A declaration for each server who saved a visit. A sheriff's or marshal's office gets a Certificate of service instead.
The phone's PDF also has a map of where each visit was recorded. On an agency case, it carries the agency's letterhead.
Sign it on the phone
- Open the case. On iPhone, tap Report, then Sign the report. On Android, tap Sign the service record.
- The first time, draw your signature. After that, Face ID, your fingerprint or your passcode applies it.
- Your signature and today's date go on the declaration in your name. If none has your name, check your name in Your details and sign again.
- Share the signed PDF. On iPhone, tap Report, then Share the signed report. On Android, the share sheet opens after you sign.
On an agency case, the signed copy also goes to the office. You need to be signed in to the agency to sign it.
In the office
- Open the case on civilstamp.com and click Report. Click Print or save as PDF for a copy.
- When a server signs the service record on the phone, the signed copy comes to the case.
- Click Email the client and pick The signed service record. The client gets a download link that works for a week. In a sheriff's or marshal's office, the button reads Send by email.
